Inside slash.ecnet.dev

Learn how ECNet orchestrates global Anycast traffic, executes sub-millisecond edge isolates, and provides a dedicated sandboxed staging layer for testing next-generation distributed applications.

What is slash.ecnet.dev?

slash.ecnet.dev serves as the primary developer sandbox, staging gateway, and pre-flight verification harness for the ECNet Edge Cloud. When engineering teams build microservices, edge workers, or real-time streaming interfaces, deploying untested routing rules or heavy payloads directly to production risks degradation.

By routing requests through slash.ecnet.dev, developers gain full observability, mock failure modes, packet trace recording, and isolated isolate memory sandboxes that mirror production edge nodes without impacting live end-user traffic.

Multi-Tier Edge Architecture

Every request to slash.ecnet.dev traverses four specialized, low-latency layers:

Tier 1 • Anycast

Global Edge Ingress & TLS 1.3 Termination

Terminates incoming HTTP/1.1, HTTP/2, and HTTP/3 (QUIC) packets at the nearest PoP using BGP Anycast routing, minimizing handshake latency.

Tier 2 • Rust Engine

Kernel-Bypass Routing & eBPF Telemetry

High-throughput proxy layer built in Rust with XDP/eBPF filters that analyze request headers, authenticate staging tokens, and route traffic in microseconds.

Tier 3 • Sandbox

V8 Isolates & WebAssembly WASI Sandbox

Executes serverless edge handlers inside secure, isolated JavaScript & Wasm sandboxes with cold-start times under 5 milliseconds.

Tier 4 • State Mesh

Distributed Key-Value & Event Streams

Geo-replicated storage layer providing read-local caching, eventual consistency synchronization, and real-time event streaming back to developer dashboards.

Developer Guidelines & FAQ

How do I authenticate requests to slash.ecnet.dev? +
In staging mode, public test endpoints like /v1/ping and /v1/health are open without credentials. For custom sandbox deployments, pass your dev token via the Authorization: Bearer dev_sec_... header or configure mTLS client certificates via the ECNet CLI.
Is slash.ecnet.dev isolated from production workloads? +
Yes. The staging cluster runs on dedicated hardware slices with isolated routing tables, sandboxed storage namespaces, and separate Anycast BGP announcements. Load tests or simulated network faults on slash.ecnet.dev do not affect production availability.
Can I test real-time WebSocket streams? +
Yes! Connect to wss://slash.ecnet.dev/stream/telemetry with standard WebSocket clients. You can subscribe to live trace streams, test reconnection handling, and verify multiplexed packet integrity.
What are the rate limits on this testbed? +
Unauthenticated test probes are limited to 120 requests/minute per source IP. Authenticated developer sandboxes support up to 5,000 requests/second for pre-flight load testing.
